Battery basics

Charging time
Actual charging time varies with the starting battery level and device use. The battery charge-current ceiling is 1 A, so a higher-rated USB supply may not reduce the time substantially. Using the M1 while charging can increase the total time.
Charge the M1
- Connect the USB-C cable to the M1.
- Connect the other end to a standard 5 V USB power source.
- Leave the device connected until charging is complete. The M1 may be used while it charges.

| Solid red | The battery is charging. |
| Solid green | Charging is complete. |
| No light | The M1 is not charging, is disconnected, or has no power. Check Battery Info when uncertain. |
Check battery status
Open Settings > Power > Battery Info. The screen reports battery level, temperature, voltage, health, and charging status.

| Not charging | No active charging cycle. |
| Pre-charge | The battery is being recovered at low current. |
| Fast Charge | Normal charging is in progress. |
| Complete | The charging cycle has finished. |
Battery safety
Disconnect the M1 if the enclosure becomes unusually hot, damaged, swollen, or wet. Do not continue charging a visibly damaged device.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| Red LED never turns on | Try another cable and a known-good 5 V source. Check the USB-C port for debris. |
| Battery level does not increase | Restart the M1 and review Battery Info. Contact support if voltage or temperature readings are abnormal. |
| Device shuts down quickly | Charge fully, update the M1 firmware, and compare the Level and Health readings. |
